Tony Oxendine is from South Carolina in the United States and was introduced to Square Dance in 1972 through a youth program. He began calling in 1974 and turned his passion into his profession in 1980. Since then, he has worked as a caller at festivals, conventions, and specials around the world. He has called in all 50 U.S. states as well as in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Tony has also made his mark on Square Dance music. In 1976, he released his first Square Dance record. Together with Jerry Story, he founded the Royal Records music label in 1986, which went on to become a major provider of Square Dance music. He received gold records for his recordings “Pretty Woman” and “The Square Dance Is On.”

Tony has been a member of CALLERLAB since 1978 and has served the organization in various roles for many years. From 1994 to 1996, he was Chairman of the Board of Governors. In 2000, he received the Milestone Award, CALLERLAB’s highest honor. In addition, he has been an accredited Caller Coach since 1996 and shares his many years of experience with other callers through Caller Schools and seminars.

Martin Kull is from Baden-Baden and has been active as a Square Dance caller for many years. He was already calling at specials in the 1990s. Today, he can regularly be heard at club nights, workshops, and larger dance events in Germany and beyond.

Martin has been the club caller for the Charly Mixers in Karlsruhe since 2018. There, he guides dancers through their club nights and is also involved in training new callers. Since 2022, he has been mentoring Oliver Schwärmer, among others, as an up-and-coming caller.

In addition to his work at the microphone, Martin is also committed to exchange and continuing education within the Square Dance community. Together with Peter Höfelmeyer, he has been producing the “Caller Lounge” podcast since 2020. In the podcast, the two discuss topics related to Square Dance, choreography, music, and the work of a caller. They also organize events where interested dancers can gain their first experience at the microphone.
