Review of the 7th Blitz & Donner 2026

From September 18 to 20, 2026, our 7th Blitz & Donner Special took place at the Donnersberghalle in Rockenhausen. With nearly 150 guests from 58 clubs, we once again enjoyed an unforgettable weekend full of music, dancing, friendship, and many very special moments!

From the moment you entered the hall, you could feel the special atmosphere that makes our Blitz & Donner what it is. Some people even got goosebumps. We were especially touched by the feedback from our guests, who repeatedly praised the family-like atmosphere, the warm welcome, and the feeling of simply being welcome here. Whether you have been joining us for years or found your way to us for the very first time.

Our callers Robert Milestad from Sweden, Christian Sorge and Philipp Aff provided plenty of fun on the dance floor with a varied program ranging from Mainstream to A2.

Our two New Voices Katrin Fehl and Oliver Schwärmer celebrated a very special premiere when they took over the microphone for an hour on Saturday evening. At one point, the two of them had eight squares dancing at the same time and created a fantastic atmosphere. It was wonderful to see how enthusiastically our guests supported the two up-and-coming callers!

Even after the official dance program had ended, the evening was far from over. At the afterparty, everyone kept dancing, laughing, and celebrating together late into the night. As Callers from the Floor, Andreas Wallerer, Tony Schamott, Antje Wacker, Caroline Tellbach and Andi Bachsleitner provided some extra entertainment. Maybe we’ll see one or two of them again soon as New Voices on our official program!

Of course, there was plenty going on off the dance floor as well: our delicious food and popular cocktail bar once again kept everyone well taken care of. For the first time, we were also delighted to welcome a Square Dance shop to our special. Our second-hand selection was also very popular, and quite a few beautiful items found new owners over the course of the weekend.

That our Blitz & Donner is more than just a dance weekend became clear even before the event began: when we learned that the usual camp beds for our overnight guests in the hall would not be available, our Thunderhill members immediately stepped in to help. Private sleeping arrangements were quickly organized, so that in the end every overnight guest had a comfortable place to sleep.

That is exactly what makes our club and this special so unique: people who are there for one another, work together, and put something wonderful together with a whole lot of heart.

A huge thank you therefore goes to our members and all the external helpers who supported us this year. It is wonderful to see friendships grow from evenings spent dancing together, friendships that reach far beyond the boundaries of our own clubs.

And of course, we would also like to thank our guests, whose enthusiasm, laughter, and joy of dancing once again filled our hall with life. You are what makes our Blitz & Donner what it is!

We are taking home so many wonderful memories and are already looking forward to welcoming you back to Rockenhausen for the 8th Blitz & Donner in 2027!

After the special is before the special! The hall is already reserved, the callers are booked, and we are already incredibly excited about our next Blitz & Donner!

From September 17 to 19, 2027, we look forward to welcoming you back to the Donnersberghalle in Rockenhausen.

This year, we have once again put together a fantastic caller team for you: Tony Oxendine (USA), Martin Kull (DE) and Philipp Aff (DE) will keep you moving for three days.
And of course, our New Voices will be part of the program again! With Inge Hierweck (AU) and Andreas Wallerer (DE), we are once again giving two up-and-coming callers the opportunity to call at our special in front of a larger audience. We’re really looking forward to it!

Our tried-and-tested dance program will remain unchanged: more than 14 hours of Mainstream as well as 2.5 hours each of Plus, A1 and A2 await you. And of course, our afterparties, delicious food, and popular cocktail bar will be back as well!

Registration and Admission Prices

Preregistration opens on October 1, 2026 and runs until August 15, 2027.

If you register in time, you’ll once again save €5 on the admission price. That’s basically your first cocktail of the weekend! 😉

• Full weekend: €25 with preregistration, €30 afterwards

• Saturday only: €20 with preregistration, €25 afterwards

Of course, you are still very welcome after preregistration has closed! Our door registration will be open, so you can simply stop by spontaneously and join us on the dance floor.

We’re sure it will be worth it, so make sure to register in time!
